The Arts Society Truro

The Arts Society Truro was founded in 1981, and has been flourishing ever since.   Because we are affiliated to The Arts Society, we have access to national resources, including a directory of expert and knowledgeable lecturers. As part of the Art Society we also take part in art heritage conservation work, and give encouragement to the young to spark and sustain their interest in all things artistic.

We hold monthly Lectures on the 2nd Wednesday of the month from September to June at 7pm in Truro College, with refreshments available from 6pm.

We generally arrange every year two or three Discovery Days when we study a subject in more depth and detail.

We arrange visits and tours to places of interest locally and further afield.

We have a team of volunteers who carry out skilled book conservation in the Royal Cornwall Museum, and plan to help with other conservation work there as well.

Members of the Arts Society Truro receive a monthly newsletter with information about forthcoming activities, as well the quarterly magazine from The Arts Society with excellent articles and reviews of art and design subjects.  Our Membership Card gives reduced entry to many galleries and exhibitions nationally.

Annual membership costs £46.  Visitors and guests are welcome to lectures at £8.
